MARTIAL ARTS MILESTONE

There's a first time for everything. Pam Greene is there to capture those experiences, both momentous and subtle, in the lives of Central New Yorkers. On Sept. 23, Keyonda and Keyona Cummings became the first female black twins in the world to become black belts in Goju-ryu karate, under the organization Sho-Rei-Shobu-Kan, said the organization's founder, John Roseberry.. Roseberry came to Syracuse from Lincoln, Neb., to administer the four-hour black belt test

Keyona Cummings,the second born. Whose know for speed and power. She is a very fast fighter. Like a swans gracefulness. She is agile and smooth like the (ju) in goju ryu. She is also known as the "Scorpion Queen"

The twins would train rigorously at 5 in the morning for 3 hours. Numerous stretching execises, sparring witheach other full contact with out padding or gloves.Faithfully everyday. Then at night for 2 and a half hours doing katas to perfect their techniques and self defense applicaiotns. They would spar each other full contact to perfect their counterparts techniques. Since the age of five years old they have excelled in every endevour. Under the watchful eye of Uncle Eric T Washington Sensei. He has kept and preserved the martial arts within the family. He is very creative, humble, and extremely technical about technique.  Keyona and Keyonda just like most children at times have their differences, but they never use their fighting skills against each other. They are very loyal and loving to each other. Plus 100% daddy's girls.

They are respectable, caring, and outspoken. Keyonda's dreams one day is to become a doctor. An Keyona wants to practice law one day. Martial arts has given them the esteem to outspoken, confident, and a fine sense of determination and self discipline.

My twin daughters have demonstated the upmost courage that makes a  father sincerely proud. The blood of a warrior, and the humility to cherish compassion. The twins where the first in the world to become black belts at the age of thirteen through the Shorei Shobukan system.  Under the structual guidance of Uncle Eric. He has unconditionally loved my daughters with no equivocations. He has watch and guided our family to stay strong. After suffering the loss of a close member to him, sadness of being close to people. Forced him to box his self away from everyone fearing loss of another loved one. Knowing my uncle trained diligently and devoted his life to karate. They made a choice. A vow to train under all and any conditions, to prove that the love they where instilled with has honor, courage, and commitment. To sacrafice their souls to save another. By giving hope. To my uncle and as well as myself. To survive in a neighborhood that's depressing tends to take it's toll on people, but even adults can learn from their children as well. I love you my daughters. I thank you both for the spirit you gave us. Don't be shy, the world should know the angels that where strong enough to save, love, and protect the one's they love.   THANK'S MY BABY'S.  Love always daddy

Keyonda Cummings,the first born twin whose known for being powerful, and fast. A very strong fighter who can hold a side kick and spin numerous times without her leg being tired. She's excellent in kata demonstations. A very powerful body built.  She is  the (go) in goju ryu. She is also known as the"Warrior princess"
